Meet Our Team of Trustees

Our team consists of highly qualified and motivated professionals, who are all experts in their field. With many years of experience in the industry, they have the expertise to provide comprehensive, first-rate services to our clients.

Hazel Beecham

Chair

"I became a Trustee, because I am a Christian and I also have a background in housing. I work closely with a number of agencies as a Housing Officer, and this has proved useful for our customers within Alpha House, and I can use my existing skills in a new context. I have gained valuable experience in the 18 months that I have been involved with Alpha House. There is no better feeling than being involved in improving the lives of others and I find being a Trustee rewarding and enjoyable. Being a Trustee has presented me with new challenges, and I am learning from the other Trustees. Being a Trustee of Alpha House has also benefitted me personally as well as in my career within my Housing Association which in turn brings more skills to Alpha House”.

Fran Nowell

Trustee

As a founding member of Alpha House Calderdale, Fran brings almost two decades worth of experience in the criminal justice system to help clients to become productive members of society. She has an in-depth knowledge of the challenges that clients face and the specific needs that can be met to re-introduce them to society. Fran has a passion for helping those with complex backgrounds and also spends her retirement volunteering for the organisation.

Katherine Brabbins

Trustee

I am involved with the Alpha house project because as a Christian, I feel that this is what I’m being called to do. I am a teacher and have a settled life. I firmly believe that people leaving prison, having had drug and alcohol and mental health problems need supported housing where they can get help and support in remaining abstinent, getting well and rebuilding their lives.

Brendon
Bennett

Trustee

Brendon is our Service User Rep, though he is an ex-service user now. He graduated from our recovery programme and began volunteering for the Hep-C Trust where he has worked for the past 3 years. He is a valued Trustee and brings his expertise to add value to our service delivery.

Caron
Stephens

Trustee

Caron has been a Trustee since 2019; “I believe in the Founder and the ethos of the program”.
Having worked in ‘welfare services’ for over 20 years she has met many people who, given the right support, turn their lives around and overcome the obstacles that prevent them from living fulfilling and joyful lives.
Because of this, she can see this important principle in Alpha House.

Meet Our Staff

Yvonne Oliver
CEO - BA MA MSc PGD RMBACP

Yvonne joined Alpha House Calderdale in January 2012 when the organisation was in its infancy. Yvonne is responsible for Business Development and Quality, Clinical Supervision and Dual Diagnosis Counselling and overall service provision. She brings a range of qualifications and a vast amount of knowledge and experience. As well as having a Leeds University BA Hons degree in Public Media and an MA in Managing Change from Bradford University she is a highly qualified Addiction Treatment professional with an MSc in Addictions Psychology from London South Bank University and two postgraduate Counselling Diplomas. She is also a qualified RMBACP registered counsellor.

Shane Ingham
Finance Manager

Shane originally came to Alpha as a resident in 2017 to sort his life out, and he did exactly that.

A life of alcohol abuse had brought Shane to his knees, but through applying himself 100% to Alpha House’s Treatment Programme and attending mutual aid groups, Shane was able to do a full 180⁰ turn in all aspects of his life.

Shane went from client to volunteer and then into a paid work finance and administration role. Because of his previous experience working in logistics, he gradually elevated to Finance Manager. He is an integral part of the Alpha House team with knowledge of all departments and able to contribute his skills wherever needed

Aimee Noon
Operations Manager

Aimee joined the team in January 2025 directly from the NHS where she managed two GP Practices. Her organisational skills and logistical thinking are helping to implement systems and processes to develop our infrastructure. She is also an excellent bookkeeper. Aimee is always available to assist in all departments and has been invaluable in training new volunteers.

Monique Evans
Education Manager and Clinical Support

Monique began volunteering for SWAP last year and is also a member of staff with Alpha House. She is currently studying for her NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care and has a good deal of lived experience, training, and relevant qualifications.

Because of her own life’s path, and what she’s learned along the way, she wants to pass that on and see others succeed in life and enjoy a positive and happy future.

Heidi
Housing Support Lead

Heidi has been a Housing Support Worker with Alpha House since we opened our “Support Unit” at the end of 2017. The Support Unit houses some of our most vulnerable clients at Alpha House, and Heidi works to ensure all their needs are met and that they receive the support they need at such a crucial stage of recovery.
